Ways to Work with Ms. Joy

Find the Right Support for Your Child

Every student is starting from a different place.

Some need stronger foundations. Some need more challenge. Some need help communicating what they already know. And sometimes you simply need someone to help you figure out what the next step should be.

Explore the options below to find the support that fits your child.

  • Hi, I'm Jahci Joy.

Writing & Communications Coach | Curriculum Designer | Educator

For years, I've helped students become stronger, more independent communicators by teaching something that is easy to overlook:

How to think before they write or speak.

Because communication isn't simply putting words on paper or being willing to talk in front of people.

It's understanding what you want to say, organizing your thinking, and expressing it in a way someone else can understand.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in English and a Master's degree in Public Health, and my work brings together education, writing, curriculum design, and communication.

My goal isn't simply to help students complete the next assignment or presentation.

It's to help them develop communication skills they can carry into high school, college, scholarships, interviews, careers, leadership, and whatever comes next.

If you know your child could become a stronger writer but aren't sure what they actually need to work on, start here.

I'll review a recent writing sample, identify the skills that need the most attention, and meet with you to explain what I'm seeing and what I recommend next.

  • Need consistent individualized support

Speak with Confidence with Ms. Joy

Learn to Communicate Ideas Clearly—Not Just Speak Loudly.

A 12-session public speaking and communication program for students in grades 4–8.

Students learn how to organize their ideas, structure and develop a speech, strengthen delivery, manage nerves, and communicate with purpose.

And no—students don't have to be shy to benefit.

A child who loves talking still benefits from learning how to communicate effectively. A quieter child doesn't need to become loud to become a strong communicator.

Best for: Students who are ready to strengthen the way they organize, express, and present their ideas.

College Essay Coaching

Help Them Tell Their Story—In Their Own Voice.

Personalized college essay coaching helps students develop, draft, and revise an essay that is thoughtful, compelling, and still sounds like them.

The goal isn't to manufacture the "perfect" college essay.

It's to help students identify what they actually want to communicate and develop the writing skills to communicate it well.
